The OrchardMan project develops a vision-based technology for measuring tree-fruit metrics, such as size and growth, to optimize horticultural management. This innovation aims to enhance fruit yield and quality while reducing waste, ultimately benefiting European agriculture economically.
The overall innovation project is intended to bring our novel ‘OrchardMan’ vision-based tree-fruit measurement technology toEuropean market-readiness.
This will provide in-field data based on cost-effective image capture technology and novelimage processing algorithms, which can identify commercially relevant yield factors such as fruit size, growth and treearchitecture automatically in the difficult environment of the orchard under variable weather and lighting conditions.
