This research analyzes the integration of the Romanian car industry into global production networks from the late 1960s to 2017. It explores the impact of flexible capitalism on workers' experiences and the transformation of production practices in Romania.
In the 1970s, companies from Western Europe initiated a series of complex moves towards the reterritorialisation of their production chains.
