WILDGUT investigates the relationship between habitat changes, host species, and gut parasites in tropical non-human primates. By analyzing fecal samples, the project aims to understand how human activities affect microbial diversity and wildlife health, contributing to conservation strategies.
Calls to stem biodiversity loss have generally focussed on the plight of charismatic vertebrates (mammals, birds, fish, amphibians) and to some extent, insects (like butterflies).
