This project investigates the role of electron spin in the photocatalytic process of water splitting to produce hydrogen and oxygen. By exploring the effects of chiral symmetry in catalysts, the research aims to enhance the efficiency of hydrogen production.
This proposal describes a plan to prove the role of electrons’ spin in the photocatalyzed oxidation of water; reaction of two water molecules to form two hydrogen molecules and a single oxygen molecule in its triplet ground state.
