This research investigates the evolution of volatile elements in Mercury's magma using data from the MESSENGER spacecraft and laboratory experiments. The goal is to understand the role of carbon and sulfur in Mercury's geological processes under extreme conditions.
Mercury has been extensively characterized by the NASA MESSENGER spacecraft that was orbiting the planet from 2011 to 2015.
