This project aims to investigate emerging viral diseases transmitted by mosquitoes and biting midges. It employs multidisciplinary methods to study virus communities, develop diagnostic tools, and improve intervention strategies to mitigate the risks of these diseases.
The project intends to address the risk of emerging viral vector borne diseases in two main categories of arthropods known to transmit important animal and zoonotic diseases: mosquitoes (Aedes and Culex), and Culicoides biting midges.
