VIVA-ELISA is developing a rapid diagnostic test for early detection of sepsis by measuring NLRP3 inflammasome activation in patients. This test aims to improve prognosis and reduce mortality rates through timely intervention and personalized treatment strategies.
Sepsis causes almost 20% of global annual deaths.
It involves a dysregulated systemic inflammatory response driven by proinflammatory cytokines.
If untreated, it progresses to organ dysfunction, low blood pressure, and septic shock.
