The VIRUS project examines how narratives justify violence during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, focusing on the portrayal of violence as virtuous by illiberal actors in Russia and Europe. It aims to develop tools to counter these narratives and enhance media literacy and democratic resilience in affected regions.
The VIRUS project will investigate the narrative legitimisation of violence during the Russian invasion of Ukraine in Russia and Europe, exploring the argument that, similar to a virus, violence proliferates when conditions are favourable.
