This project explores how victim participation in transitional justice processes can enhance legitimacy and empower individuals. It aims to analyze the conditions under which participation is organized and its impact on victims' experiences of justice.
The question of how to serve justice, facilitate peaceful transitions and empower victims of past large-scale abuses is about as old as the field of transitional justice (TJ) itself.
