VANESSA aims to establish a standardized validation methodology for engineering simulations, enhancing their reliability in product design. It focuses on integrating optical measurement systems to improve quality control throughout the engineering process.
Engineering simulation is an essential feature of the design and manufacture of all engineered products at all scales.
However such simulations are not routinely validated, at least in part because technology for rapid, cost-effect validations has not been available.
Two previous projects, SPOTS and ADVISE have led to the development of appropriate technology.
