This project investigates how neurons in the nucleus accumbens encode positive and negative valence, which influences behavior. By analyzing neuronal activity and opioid signaling in rodents, the research aims to clarify the mechanisms behind reward and aversion responses in the brain.
In an ever-changing environment, organisms evolved to filter information and focus on stimuli that are associated with relevant outcomes.
