This project focuses on creating a tool to investigate ultrafast dynamics of surface plasmons at the nanoscale. It aims to explore how different nanostructures influence surface plasmon localization and to understand electron dynamics during the photoemission process in metals.
The proposed project is aimed at creating a surface science tool which is capable to locally probe ultrafast dynamics of surface plasmons.
The instrument will be applied to study the effect of diffrent nanostructures on subwavelength surface plasmon field localization.
The experiments also aim to shed light into the ultrafast electron dynamics upon photoemission of metals.
