This project develops a new framework to predict flow and transport processes in partially saturated heterogeneous media. It aims to improve understanding of multiphase systems across various fields, including environmental science and petroleum recovery, by analyzing pore structure and flow dynamics.
Understanding and quantifying flow, transport, and reaction processes in partially saturated heterogeneous media and their consequences on the relevant Darcy-scale for different multiphase conditions and flow dynamics, remains one of the leading open challenges in porous media research.
