This research explores the complex relationship between urbanism and the environment, analyzing historical and contemporary practices in urban design and governance. It aims to understand how urbanists address environmental challenges and promote justice in urban settings.
Over the past half century, urbanism has become the cornerstone of global environmental action.
Yet the term “environment” is ambiguous, multi-layered and contested.
