UPGRADE focuses on advancing gene therapy by developing new technologies for precise gene editing and safe delivery. The project aims to overcome current limitations in gene therapy, targeting various diseases for potential long-term cures.
Gene therapy has recently shown remarkable potential to offer definitive treatments for otherwise incurable diseases.
Currently, seven gene therapy products have reached the market and many more are entering clinical testing for selected indications.
