This research aims to decode the signals within nascent protein chains that guide their functional development. By exploring the molecular interactions during protein synthesis, the project seeks to enhance our understanding of cellular processes and potential therapeutic applications.
Emerging biochemical and biophysical data strongly suggest that the transformation of the potential set of proteins, encrypted in the genome, into its actual vital functional set, is a manifestation not just of the genetic code, but of an additional layer of information encoded within the newly synthesized polypeptide nascent chain.
