The UNISDYN project investigates the organization of magnetic fields in astrophysical systems, particularly in solar-like stars. By enhancing stellar dynamo models with turbulent processes, it aims to unify theories of magnetic field generation and improve understanding of cosmic magnetism.
Magnetic fields are ubiquitous in the universe.
The special property of cosmic magnetism is that, in the majority of objects hosting magnetic fields, those fields are organized, such that some meaningful averaging can reveal global structure and systematic behavior.
