This project examines Universal Design principles to assess how they address the needs of individuals with disabilities in the built environment. It aims to understand the socio-political implications of design practices and how they can enhance autonomy for disabled individuals.
The proposed research examines the proposition that the values and attitudes embedded into the production of the designed environment display little or no knowledge of how to respond to the manifold complexities of the body.
