This project aims to develop innovative photonic devices that significantly reduce power consumption for on-chip and inter-chip communication. By integrating advanced semiconductor materials with cutting-edge fabrication techniques, the project seeks to create a new platform for efficient optical interconnects.
It is now generally recognized that current electrical solutions will not suffice to fulfil all requirements for communication on-chip and between chips, which is expected to continue to grow exponentially during the coming years.
Therefore we have to look for alternatives.
