This project aims to develop a new type of MRI contrast agent using ultrasmall hollow silica nanospheres loaded with gadolinium. The goal is to enhance the detection of tumors in small animal models and potentially in human patients.
The widespread use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology in clinical and scientific research has attracted great interest in designing high relaxivity contrast agents to improve their sensitivity for the early stage detection of cancer.
