This project aims to develop new antiviral strategies against influenza viruses by targeting host proteins essential for viral replication. By studying specific E3 ubiquitin ligases, it seeks to uncover mechanisms that could lead to novel therapeutic targets and reduce the emergence of drug-resistant strains.
Influenza viruses are a significant seasonal disease burden, and provide an ever-present threat of causing severe pandemics with potentially devastating clinical, social, and economic consequences.
