This project explores the role of the TRIB2 protein in drug resistance in melanoma, a severe skin cancer. It aims to understand how TRIB2 contributes to resistance against MEK inhibitors and to develop it as a biomarker for personalized treatment strategies.
Melanoma is the most aggressive form of skin cancer resistant to all standard therapies.
Currently, the established treatment of metastatic melanoma includes dacarbazine (DTIC) administration associated with response rates of between 10-20% with severe side effects during treatment.
