This project aims to elucidate the mechanisms of human solute carriers, which are vital for transporting molecules across cell membranes. By studying their structures and functions, the research seeks to identify new drug targets for various diseases.
Human solute carriers (hSLC) form a superfamily of integral membrane proteins that transport small molecules and ions across membranes, and their transport functions are essential to processes ranging from synaptic transmission to apoptosis.
