This project aims to develop a universal electrical quantum standard using superconducting nanowires. By leveraging quantum phase slips, it seeks to create a compact and user-friendly device that enhances electrical metrology and provides direct traceability to international standards.
We will exploit new macroscopic quantum phenomena realised in superconducting nanowires made from 2D superconductors to trigger a paradigm change in electrical metrology.
Our overall objective is to develop a robust and easy-to-use universal electrical quantum standard on a single chip by utilizing the duality of superconductive physics, which will allow direct traceability to the SI with no recourse to long calibration chains.
