This project focuses on advancing the understanding and application of topological insulators, unique materials with special electronic properties. By transferring knowledge from a leading research group in the United States to top European teams, it aims to explore their potential in quantum computing and spintronics.
In the last thirty years great progress in solid state physics was mainly driven by the discovery of novel highly unique material systems.
