This project aims to develop a low-pressure turbine using titanium-aluminide (TiAl) materials, focusing on their manufacturing processes and oxidation resistance for high-temperature applications. The goal is to enhance the performance and economic viability of turbine components in harsh environments.
The here proposed TiAlBLADE reseach project, deals with one of the specific tasks of the SAGE5 demonstrator which is devoted to the development of an innovative low pressure turbine. A part of the low pressure turbine is composed by blades working in harsh environment.
For this specific application, TiAl investment casting is presented as the most efficient as it fulfis both technical and economical requirements.
