This project develops gas-filled nanostructures that use ultrasound to enhance drug delivery into tumors. By utilizing ultrasonic cavitation, it aims to improve the penetration of therapeutic agents, potentially increasing the effectiveness of cancer treatments.
One of the important shortcomings of modern anticancer therapies is their limited penetration depth of only a few cell layers into the tumor.
Concentrated around the heterogeneous vasculature, these drugs produce only a local therapeutic effect.
