This project investigates how plants manage water uptake under drought conditions by integrating advanced mapping of solute concentrations with micro-hydrological modeling. It aims to enhance understanding of plant water relations and improve predictions of land water fluxes in changing climates.
With global warming, climate zones are projected to shift poleward, and the frequency and intensity of droughts to increase, driving threats to crop production and ecosystems.
