This research project aims to investigate the patterns of terrestrial biodiversity over the last 375 million years by analyzing the fossil record of four-limbed vertebrates. It seeks to reassess previous models of diversification and understand the factors influencing species diversity on land.
Life on land today is spectacularly diverse, representing 75–95% of all species on Earth.
However, it remains unclear how this extraordinary diversity has been acquired across deep geological time.
