This project focuses on developing a new method to determine the ages of stars in the Milky Way. By combining these age distributions with chemical and dynamical data from large observational datasets, the project aims to enhance our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution.
Understanding how galaxies form and evolve in the Universe is a key, long-term goal of Astrophysics.
In this regard, our Galaxy provides unique insights because, due to its proximity, detailed galactic properties can be resolved that can unravel its formation history.
