This project explores the role of apolipoprotein A-I in regulating T cell functions related to atherosclerosis. By using genetically modified mice, it aims to understand how T cell activity influences inflammation and plaque development in cardiovascular disease.
The pathogenesis of atherosclerosis involves inflammation and immune reactions. T cell responses contribute to local inflammation and growth of the atherosclerotic plaque.
