This project focuses on producing critical editions of the Greek translations of Thomas Aquinas’ works to explore their influence on Byzantine philosophy. It aims to enhance the understanding of the intellectual exchange between Eastern and Western traditions.
The proposed Project is the critical edition (editio princeps) of the Greek translation of Thomas Aquinas’ Summa Theologiae Ia IIae by Demetrios Cydones and of its partial Compendium by Cardinal Bessarion.
The proposed research is part of the “Thomas de Aquino Byzantinus” Project, which is held by the Royal Holloway University of London and the Department of Education of the University of Patras.
