This project analyzes wear patterns on ancient stone thresholds and paving stones to understand historical traffic flow. By combining experimental rock mechanics with agent-based modeling, it aims to quantify movement intensity in archaeological contexts and enhance risk assessment for cultural heritage.
Stone architectural elements are perhaps the most ancient witnesses of an archaeological site.
