The TARLIT project focuses on enhancing neutron capture therapy for cancer treatment by developing nanoparticles that deliver enriched lithium compounds directly to tumors. This innovative approach aims to improve the precision and effectiveness of radiotherapy while minimizing damage to healthy tissues.
Cancer accounted for nearly 10 million deaths in 2020.
Half of all cancer patients are treated with radiation therapy, either alone or combined with other therapeutic modalities (mainly surgery and chemotherapy).
