This project investigates how tumor cells, particularly glioblastoma cells, utilize a process called macropinocytosis to survive under stress conditions. It aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms behind this adaptation and identify potential therapeutic targets to exploit this survival strategy in cancer treatment.
Tumors must survive microenvironmental stresses, such as nutriment deprivation, low levels of oxygen and anticancer treatments.
To do so, tumor cells have developed numerous adaptation mechanisms, and we have recently shown that induction of macropinocytosis is associated with tumor cell survival.
