TALER is developing a privacy-focused digital payment system called GNU Taler, designed to enhance transaction transparency for sellers while protecting buyer privacy. The project aims to implement this system in various sectors, including finance and e-health, to facilitate secure online payments.

Objective

TALER will roll out a new electronic payment system that benefits European citizens, merchants, and banks.GNU Taler is a privacy-preserving digital payment system developed bythe GNU community and Taler Systems SA with additional funding fromvarious NGI calls (NGI0 PET, NGI0 Entrust, NGI POINTER, NGI TRUST).GNU Taler offers privacy for the buyer while enforcingtransparency on sellers.
