The project investigates the role of protein kinases in cancer by using systems biology to analyze their signaling networks. The goal is to create predictive models for cancer onset, aiding in the development of targeted therapies.
Protein kinases mediate most of the signal transduction events in cells by phosphorylation of specific substrates – modifying their activity, cellular location, and/or association with other proteins.
