This project aims to advance organocatalysis by merging it with transition metal catalysis to develop new methods for selective chemical transformations. It focuses on enhancing the functionalization of aldehydes and activating C-H bonds, which are crucial for organic synthesis.
The paradigm of organocatalysis, wherein small organic molecules serve as reaction catalysts, has emerged as a valuable source of innovation over the past 15 years, delivering over 200 new asymmetric transformations.
