This project aims to simplify the study of living systems by theoretically analyzing microbial population diversity. It focuses on how spatial barriers and diverse traits affect biodiversity and cooperation, while also investigating microbial responses to antibiotics.
One key problem in the investigation of living systems is their complexity.
Synthetic biologists can create artificially designed biological systems, whose design reduces the complexity, and can thus address simplified and specific questions.
