The SYCLOPS project aims to democratize artificial intelligence acceleration by utilizing open standards, specifically RISC-V and SYCL. By fostering a competitive ecosystem, it seeks to enhance performance and scalability for data analytics while promoting interoperability and sustainability in AI systems.
The wide-spread adoption of AI and analytics has resulted in a rapidly expanding market for novel hardware accelerators that can provide energy-efficient scaling of training and inference tasks at both the cloud and edge.
