This research focuses on discovering new structured electromagnetic waves in photonic media, aiming to control light propagation through innovative shaping techniques. The project seeks to advance both theoretical understanding and practical applications in optics and related fields.
Over the last decade structured light in free space — light with a special shaped that endow it with unique propagation characteristics — has led to many exciting new applications, from microscopy and micromanipulation to micromachining.
Also, these concepts have gone beyond optics and penetrated other fields, like electron beams.
At the same time, researchers have demonstrated new kinds of “photonic media”, among them, photonic crystals, metamaterial, plasmonic materials and photonic lattices.…
