This project aims to improve the assessment of health risks associated with PM2.5 and temperature exposure. By developing high-resolution models for air quality, it seeks to better understand the impacts on fetal growth and other health outcomes across different populations.
Exposure to PM2.5 has been associated with increased risk of myocardial infarction, reduced birth weights, cardiovascular and respiratory disease.
Climate changes will lead to warmer air temperatures (Ta) and more extreme weather events,which are associated with increased morbidity and mortality in sensitive populations.
