This project develops a push-pull handbike using innovative string drive technology, designed to improve mobility for wheelchair users. It aims to create a more effective and healthier alternative to traditional hand-operated bicycles, accommodating various user needs.
According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) to ensure effective personal mobility, wheelchair users need a wheelchair which fits them correctly and meets their specific needs.
This requires an approach that is responsive to individual needs.
