This project investigates how to activate brown adipose tissue (BAT) to increase energy expenditure in humans. It explores the effects of cold exposure and natural compounds like allyl-isothiocyanate and capsaicin on BAT activation in both healthy and obese individuals.
Obesity is the result of a mismatch between energy intake and energy expenditure.
