This project investigates how hair follicle stem cells regulate tissue formation and regeneration. By developing a new culture system, it aims to understand the signaling networks that control stem cell behavior and their implications for regenerative medicine.
How complex but stereotyped tissues are formed, maintained and regenerated through local growth, differentiation and remodeling is a fundamental open question in biology.
