This project investigates how the age of plant roots affects their ability to regenerate and maintain stem cell function. By comparing young and adult roots, it aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms that influence regeneration, which is vital for improving crop resilience and productivity.
Roots are a plant’s source of support, hydration and nutrition.
They originate from stem cells located in apical meristems, making stem cell preservation essential for plant survival.
