This project explores the relationship between visual perception and memory using advanced techniques in neuroscience. By manipulating neural activity in monkeys, it aims to understand how visual memories are formed and how they can be influenced, with potential applications in cognitive therapies.
The overlap between the neural substrates and processes underlying perception and memory makes it difficult to dissociate them, and the complexity of high-level visual processing further complicates this task.
