This project explores the dynamics of state support for non-state armed groups, including insurgencies and terrorist organizations. It aims to create a comprehensive dataset to analyze how such support influences the formation and survival of these groups.
The objective of this project is to advance my existing research on state support for Non-state Armed Groups (NAGs) including terrorists, ethnic, religious, and ideological insurgencies and guerrilla organizations. NAGs are defined by three characteristics: the absence of a formal affiliation to a state or its armed forces, resort to violence to achieve their objectives, pursuit of political objectives, such as secession, autonomy, or change of government, regime type and/or leadership.
