This project explores the interactions between Staphylococcus aureus and skin cells in the context of atopic dermatitis. It aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms that regulate inflammation caused by this bacterium, potentially leading to new treatments for skin infections.
The skin provides a physical and immunological barrier to external environment and its homeostasis depends on interactions between keratinocytes, peripheral nerves, immune cells and microbiota.
