This project explores the concept of stationary random subgroups to enhance the understanding of discrete subgroups in higher rank Lie groups. It aims to solve significant conjectures in the field, particularly regarding the properties of locally symmetric manifolds and their implications in group theory.
The notion of invariant random subgroups (IRS) has proven extremely useful during the last decade, particularly to the study of asymptotic invariants of lattices.
However, the scope of problems that one can investigate when restricting to invariant measures (on the space of subgroups) is limited.
